Rioja Wine

Rioja wine is divided into 3 sub-areas of production occupied the valley of the Ebro, Rioja Alavesa, Rioja Alta and Rioja Baja. La Rioja Alavesa, wine has an area exceeding 11,000 hectares and produces the red wines are ideal for daily use (young wines) and aged in oak barrels. La Rioja Alta, with more than 20,000 vineyard acres, produces wines of medium grade, high acidity, perfect for barrel aging. La Rioja Baja, influenced by a Mediterranean climate and vineyards of about 18,000 hectares, produces red wines of higher alcohol content.
